Animals
I have had lots of challenges when “pastelling” an animal. Most of the pastel works that I have created have been dog portraits. It really helps if you get to know the animal that you are drawing, however, at times that is not the case and I have been asked to draw a dog that has passed away.
I have had fun playing with other mediums when drawing animals, being watercolour, graphite and characoal.
When drawing an animal you need to enter into and gain an understanding of the spirit of the animal. It’s personality and soul.
